Profession: Engineering Designer (Retired)
I
consider myself fortunate to be among those who are privileged to own a farm in
Wiltshire. During the last
twenty years or more I have pursued a lively
interest in
British farming bygones especially in small implements and animal traps
of all kinds. From a professional viewpoint I can appreciate particularly the
ingenuity expressed in the design of an artefact and its carefully thought-out
operational characteristics. My own collection of traps inspired me to write a
book. This book, resulting from my research during the last fifteen years or so,
sets out to classify, describe and
illustrate many British traps designed to catch mammals ─ including man!
